I bought this pedal in the Spring of '08 for the Summer gig cycle. It was pretty cool to get updates during the build process; how many companies do that?
The Pedal arrived within the stated timeframe (for which I allowed to be sure I received it before needing it). I brought it to the next rehearsal and set it up with the power supply. After about a minute to be sure I hooked everything up right, I was off to the races, so to speak.
Curious, we cracked the case to take a look at the build quality, too. Solid with clean soldering job throughout; no wasted and sloppy work here! And the case withstood the abuse of hookup, disconnect, travel, hookup, disconnect...
I run this box as a three guitar to one amp configuration - Outputs become inputs and the Input becomes the output. Being passive, the signal can go either way. No popping when switching instruments at all. And the LEDs kept me informed as to which instrument was active after coming back from a break. So I DO recommend the LED version for clarity (uses standard 9v ps). I'll be getting another one soon as I am switching to a multiple amp setup. So I'll be running from one switcher right into the second switcher so any guitar will be able to go to any of the three amps I'll be using. How much more versatile can you get?
Hey, look, I've been playing professionally since the 1970s, gone through a ton of pedals, boxes and amps, too. But that doesn't mean I have money to throw away. This box is worth every penny. So if you're kvetching about the cost, stop. If you run three amps or three guitars into one amp, you need this pedal. The "Name Brand" stuff is three times or more the cost. So go ahead and burn your hard earned money if you must... or buy from Brian and the boys.
